Education Empowers 5K
Thank you everyone for your support!! In total Education Empowers raised over $10,000 and thanks to each of you 5 girls will now be able to complete all four years of secondary school!!!
This event was started by Santa Barbara High School senior Kelsey Short.
After going to Kenya this past summer, she was inspired to change the conditions for as many people as possible. She believes that the only true method of doing this is through education.
However, secondary education typically costs about $500/year, and yet the average per capita income is only about $300/year.
